Recovering Redeeming Grace - 01/31/2021

Greetings in the name of Our Redeemer, Christ Jesus,

We continue into the 4th message in our series of Recovering Grace today.  This is a series based on the work of Pastor Steven Martyn.

Past messages have taken us through a journey in discovery of receiving God's Grace, understanding the original human dignity as God intended and seeing that, although we are a people fallen in sin, God's Prevenient Grace has come before to prepare our hearts for life in the world.

This week we discuss the importance of God's Redeeming Grace.  His Justifying Grace that covers our sins with the blood of Christ through His atoning sacrifice on the cross.

While we cannot escape the sin of the world, we can find freedom, through Jesus Christ, from the guilt and power that sin claims over our lives.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus reconciles us with The Father and The Holy Spirit and intervenes for a right relationship with God on our behalf.

The very word atonement means to reconcile a broken relationship on behalf of someone.  We were that "someone". Jesus paid the price.

Through this gift of Justifying Grace with The Father, we are given a New Birth.  We are given the ability to be restored to our basic human dignity (they way we were originally created).

Romans 12:2 states that we are not to be "conformed to the world" but to be "transformed" by setting our mind on Christ.  Only through His Grace can we be set free for this amazing transformation.

We have been given an opportunity and we must embrace it in two ways.  First, we must repent by acknowledging our sin to God and acknowledging our need for God.  He knows what we have done, but we must trust Him with this acknowledgement as we move forward in relationship.  Second, we must take action in faith.  We must live in a way that our lives reflect a trust in God through our words, thoughts and deeds.

Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, His atonement for our sin, leads us to Salvation.  A forgiveness of our sin and renewal of our basic dignity.

Seek Him today.  Repent.  Live a life of Faith.  Share His Love with others.

Here is this week's message:

Have a blessed week!
Pastor Jeremy
