Living the Celebration 1/3/2021
Merry Christmas! Jesus Christ is born!
You may wonder why I didn't say Happy New Year. After all, this is now 2021, and we are ready to leave the old behind and embrace the possibilities of the new year. This is true. 2020 was a challenging year in every sense of the word. It is also true that the future, 2021, holds the chance of being better.
However, make sure you are specific about what you are actually putting your hope in. 2021 could end up being worse than what we have been currently living through. The turn of a calendar brings no assurance that things will be better. Only Jesus can provide assurance and hope that can be trusted. God is the same God in the beginning, now and for all time. He is a loving Father, who in Jesus offers life. We can endure any trial with Jesus, because he is the author of life and holds all power over death.
Live the Celebration, that Christ has come and will come again. In him we find hope. With Jesus we can face the new year with confidence.
