"And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'" Mark 16:15

Jesus command to His disciples is clear.  They are to "go" and "proclaim".  These are the two verbs of the sentence, which implies action on the part of the disciples.  Jesus did not want them to receives the gifts that He had given them, only to keep them for themselves.  Rather Jesus put a responsibility upon them.
The task is to share the gospel.  Most Christians today don't take this seriously enough.  I suppose most people believe it is up to ministers and pastors to do the talking about Jesus and salvation.  This is a mistake.  Any person that claims Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior, are called into discipleship.  The sharing of the Gospel should actually be a natural outpouring of love and joy for God.
If you are afraid or concerned about what to say or how people might react, remember these couple of points.  First, Jesus Christ suffered and died for you sins.  He loves you so much that he faced humiliation so that you might live.  That may be a sad thought, except for the resurrection.  Which brings me to the second point.  The resurrection of Jesus Christ means that His is the living Lord.  We can celebrate that we are no longer slaves to this world, but are now a part of God's chosen people.  Our home is not here on earth, but is in heaven.  We celebrate because our perceived reality is not the limit of our lives, and we no longer need to fear death.  Last, remember that since Jesus is alive and has promised to send the Holy Spirit to all those who believe, you don't need to worry about what to say.  With your heart focused on Christ, the Holy Spirit will give you the words, actions and attitude to share the joy found in Him.  Proclaiming the gospel is about sharing your personal witness to Jesus acts of salvation.
One more point.  Remember that you are not the one responsible to changing peoples hearts.  You are simply called to proclaim.  The Holy Spirit will take care of the rest.

May the Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you
Pastor Jeremy
