Welcome!

We hope that you will take a minute to watch this Sunday's sermon and reflect upon the gift of baptism!

After you have watched the sermon, I want to encourage you to take a few moments to reflect on this question.

                          Have you accepted the gift?

The service of baptism is a gift from God.  Part of receiving a gift is accepting it.  In the case of baptism, we are accepting the Holy Spirit to take His place on the throne of our hearts.  This implies that all thoughts, words, feelings and actions are surrendered and accessible for God's righteous judgement.  What I mean is the gift that God is giving to us is Himself.  He is offering us a place in His holy family.  His perfect ways are available to us for guidance, peace and hope.  He offers to us the promise to always be with us, a comforter and protector.  Most importantly, God offers us salvation!  We are offered the opportunity to be reconciled to God through the justification by Christ.
In the Gospel of John 18:36, Jesus said to Pilate , "My kingdom is not of this world."  The apostles preached and taught salvation comes only through Jesus Christ.  The martyrs of the early church were put to death, because they passionately believed in this truth.  This same gift of salvation is available to you.  It is not a promise of an easy life or success by the world's standards.  Rather it is a gift of perfect, eternal love.

                        Have you accepted the gift?
