May God turn is face toward you today!
Our Holy Week Worship series pulled in to Herbst UMC on Tuesday night. Worship was led by Mark Nevil, worship leader from Open Door.
The evenings theme examined the life of Judas. Pastor David Steinke of Sweetser UMC led the congregation on a powerful message that dug into the life of Judas and what made him tick. He moved into the motivations that might explain the actions of Judas led to his betrayal of Jesus. The same Jesus that he followed, served and worshiped.
Judas did not go to hell because of the betrayal. Pastor Dave explained that even after the betrayal, Judas had the opportunity to return to Jesus, to repent and to receive forgiveness. Instead, the reason that Judas is in hell is that he turned away from Jesus. A powerful reminder of how a man could be on the edge of heaven, only to fall away because he turned from Jesus.
It is our hope and prayer, that you seek a deep, intimate and loving relationship with Jesus. It was His love that led him to the cross so that all who believe may have eternal life, and it is available to you right now.
