This past Sunday we celebrated the graduation of several children who will be moving into a new school setting.  Whether it is going to kindergarten, middle school, high school or college, we mark these times of change as milestones of accomplishment and celebration for the future.  Even as adults, the changing of our job status, moving to our first home, promotions and other anniversaries are often a time of celebration.

However, for all the  excitement and anticipation our kids may be showing, these moments can be challenging, scary and overwhelming.  There is always an element of insecurity we have when moving into a new phase in our life.  The uncertainty of how we fit in, will I make new friends and can I do this are common fears that we all wrestle with.

Let us remember in our prayers all of our children this week and into the next school year.  Let us pray for God's Holy Spirit to be a calming and comforting presence to our children.  Let us prayer for the Spirit to go ahead of each child, prepare their way and give them the confidence and assurance that they are always loved.

In the name and power of Jesus the Christ.

Pastor Jeremy
