Everyday is a great day to give thanks for mothers!  We set aside this one day but the truth is, everyday, a mother should be made to feel special.  I think in our culture we take our mothers for granted to often.  This week let's make it a point to say Happy Mother's Day to a women in our life each day.  Those small, kind words can make such an impact on a persons day.  Sure they are going to tell you that "Mother's Day was Sunday" but you get to respond, "Well, I just thought you deserved more than one day."

When Jesus returned to Heaven, the disciples now became the Apostles, the sent ones.  They became the leaders, tasked to carry out Jesus commands of spreading the Good News of the Gospel.  They were entrusted with great responsibility and faced tremendous challenges, but Jesus did not leave them alone.  The Holy Spirit was sent to them to strengthen, encourage and guide them in their journey.  They were raised up by Jesus to be the messengers of God's story.

It must have been a scary feeling to know that Jesus was no longer going to be leading and that now you had to make decisions, face opposition and go into parts of the world that were not always desirable.  However, the disciples knew Jesus.  Their faith was cemented in the resurrection and they were going to be blessed with the Holy Spirit.

Where ever you are in your journey today, that same power is still available to you.  God's desire for a relationship with you has never wavered and it is as simple as believing in Jesus, whom God testified about.  That Jesus who came to the people in order to save them.  The same Jesus who died on a cross so that we could have eternal life through our faith in Him.  The same Jesus that rose again, leaving an empty tomb as evidence of who He is.

Consider how God might be calling you to rise up and lead.  If your scared, take the step in faith with assurance that you will never be alone.

Happy Mother's Day and may God bless you today and all your days going forward.
Pastor Jeremy
