Faith...that makes us strong.

  We never know what life is going to throw at us.  Often times we suffer quietly not wanting the world to know how much we are hurting.  Other times we are ashamed of our sinful behavior, so we run and hide like Adam and Eve.  The battle could be with other people, but so often most significant battles are waged internally.

    Our perception of being strong is often associated with physical strength.  We watch movies and tv shows that depict our heroes as overcoming the physical challenge of an enemy.  Even the internal struggles are depicted through the physical sense of strength.

    Faith in Jesus however brings a strength that is far greater than the mightiest super hero.  The power of the Holy Spirit was left for the disciples to provide guidance and strength.  They went into the world spreading the Good News of the Gospel against all odds.  They spoke with unshaken confidence because of their faith in Jesus.  That same power is available to you through your faith in Jesus.

    When you are in the midst of your weekly activities, remember that your faith in Jesus can give you strength to face any adversity, challenge or setback.  That strength may be witnessing to someone about your faith story or it could be the strength to simply listen to someone who is hurting.  So as you go about your routines this week remember your faith in Jesus makes you strong.
