Knowledge - Scripture: The Instruction Manual - 06/06/2021

Happy Sunday!

We welcome you today as we begin a new phase of our year long journey toward spiritual maturity.  We began this year talking about the foundational elements of faith.  We talked about these very essentials of our faith as "milk" which nourishes us as we begin our spiritual journey.  The journey does not stop there though, we must move on to "solid food", those things that will help us live our faith in the world and ultimately grow closer to God through Jesus Christ.

Over the past several weeks we have been learning about the virtues that supplement our faith as we grow toward maturity. These virtues are seen outwardly in our lives and allow others to see the way God is changing us.

As we begin living and exercising these virtues we realize that there is another step we must take.  We must begin to seek to supplement this faith with knowledge.  Specifically knowledge that is sought through Scripture, Tradition, Reason and Experience.

Today we talk about Scripture foundational to knowledge development and supplement of the virtues we have been discussing.  Scripture, God's Instruction Manual.  Scripture, God-breathed. Scripture, complete and lacking in nothing to help us as we live life in this world.

Scripture, specifically The Bible, is our greatest source of knowledge.  It offers us hope and is a witness to Jesus.  It is truth!  It can be trusted!

Scripture equips us for good work in serving God in this world.  We must be disciplined to seek the knowledge that is found in scripture as a guide for us in our daily living.

Scripture tells us who God is, who God wants us to be and how He is there for us to help us get there as we seek Him.

Spend some time in His Word this week.  Seek His guidance to supplement your faith with knowledge found in Scripture.

Be Blessed and I pray for your knowledge to be strengthened with The Word this week,
