Knowledge - Tradition: What We're Taught - 06/13/2021

Greetings,

Today we continued in learning how knowledge supplements virtue and ultimately supports our path to spiritual maturity.  We learned about how tradition is an important part of knowledge.

Traditions are done as we remember different things.  As we celebrate or observe these traditions it is important to understand what they are teaching us and why it important to know what we are taught.

Just as God gives us scripture as a way to reveal Himself and His Nature, Tradition helps us to give God the glory and allows us an opportunity to celebrate God and all He has given us.

A tradition usually starts as a well intended sharing of a good message. Christian traditions begin with God.  Over time, we must evaluate the tradition to ensure that the message and teaching are sound to the truth of Scripture and what God is revealing to us.

Traditions should glorify God above all.  They should move us closer to God.  They should be a means of teaching young/new believers.  They should demonstrate our hope in Jesus.

What traditions do you hold dear?  What about them is so important?  What are they teaching you and others as you observe them?  Do they help you to deepen your faith and glorify God?

I pray for your days to be filled with fresh knowledge of Christ as you think about traditions,

Ashli Moore
