Trusting God in Difficult Times

Here is the sermon from today...

The lesson today focused on the story of Job.  We learn from his example that regardless of our circumstances, God is the object of our worship, praise, trust and hope.  Even when it seems like a situation is hopeless or the pain seems unbearable, God is there with us.  It is important that in these moments we recognize that there is a test; a choice of the heart.  We have the opportunity to put our faith in God.

There is a question that may come to mind while watching the sermon.  "Pastor, I hear you and know that I am suppose to trust God, but I still feel helpless (sad, confused, lost).  Is God really listening?  Is the pain really going to go away?"

The simple answer is "yes".  God is in control and it will be His will that prevails.  That doesn't mean that we will not grieve.  Sometimes our healing takes time, a long time.  Sometimes the difficulties we face drag on.  Remember Joseph being stuck in prison for over two years?  And Job spent over a week grieving and lamenting his circumstance.

The Good News is that in Jesus Christ we have a savior that will see us through.  The tests and trials in this life will come, but we can persevere because we know the reward that comes from our faith in Jesus.

Blessings to you all, in the name of Jesus
Pastor Jeremy
