    This week Herbst UMC hosted its first VBS in nearly 20 years.  Preparation started for this event back in September of 2017.  The culmination of effort and planning was 36 children learning about putting on the armor of God.  An important lesson for growing up in the world to be sure.  Knowing the truth of Jesus Christ and the Salvation that by God's grace we have access to, provides an anchor of hope in a world that would tell us otherwise.  These children sang and danced, played and prayed,  created and laughed.  It was an amazing week for both campers and volunteers.

    In the coming weeks, I want to highlight some things we can learn from this event.  So many wonderful things happened that reaffirms God's hand on our lives.  We simply need to seek Him and follow.  I am so thankful for the team of individuals that came together from our church and other churches to provide a fun, safe and exciting environment for children to learn and grown in their faith. 

    May God continue to be our source of inspiration and strength to grow in our faith, so we can be courageous and loving in sharing it with others.
