"Do this in remembrance of me."

The Sacrament of Communion was instituted by Jesus Christ during the Passover meal just prior to his arrest.  It was a sacred moment in which the disciples were able to be in an intimate setting with their teacher, their friend, and their Lord.  Jesus wanted them to understand that in these acts they should remember what was about to happen and the reason why it needed to happen.  Of course the disciples did not understand until after the resurrection.

Holy Communion is passed down to us as a means to communion with God.  Every time we partake in communion we remember the sacrifice that was made and how much it cost Jesus.  It is in these mighty acts that we can be made new in Christ.  Our sins have been taken on by Jesus so that we can enter the kingdom of heaven.

Until that time, we can communion with God in many ways and Holy Communion is one of the most sacred.  A time for self-examination, repentance, praise and thanksgiving that we can live a life with Jesus.

Praise be to God,

Pastor Jeremy
