The King is coming!

Here is the Dec. 2 message from Herbst UMC.

We spend so much time during our life anticipating things that are to come.  We look ahead to daily appointments, family events, vacations, and holiday parties.  While we anticipate these events, we often are required to do some type of preparation prior to the event. The time before the scheduled event is often very important to its success.
The prophets of the Old Testament spent much of their time calling on the people to repent and seek God while pointing to the coming of the Savior.  For hundreds of years, the Jewish people waited with anticipation for their Messiah.  In the same fashion, Christ followers await the return of Jesus.
Advent is the arrival of a noble person.  It is an important time for us to remember the coming of Jesus into the world.  Christmas should be about celebration and joy as we acknowledge God's love for us.  During this time we remember the birth of Jesus, while looking forward to the return of Jesus.
Christmas is a time to prepare our hearts and minds to receive Jesus Christ, our Savior.  Enjoy and embrace this holiday season, by turning your hearts toward Jesus in everything you do.

In Christ's love

Pastor Jeremy
