Anticipating Glorifying Grace - 02/14/2021
Greetings on this Transfiguration Sunday!
Today we complete our message series on Recovering God's Grace based on a series of messages by Pastor Steven Martyn.
This week we begin the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday. Today we remember the Transfiguration of our Lord and Savior as He prepared for His sacrifice. This season is one of remembrance and also one of great excitement as we look ahead with expectant hope to the second coming of our Savior.
Our final message in this series is focused on this second coming, the time of Glorifying Grace that is coming for those who choose to accept His Grace.
We are reminded that with His first coming, Jesus came to us as a servant. Modeling for us a life to live here on earth. Scripture tells us that the second coming of Christ brings His return in Glory.
We must accept His Grace, this free gift that covers our sin. This Grace is given to us before we know we need it, at the moment we accept Him into our hearts and through our entire lives as we commit ourselves to a relationship with Him in this world of sin.
John tells us in 1 John 3:2 that "...we know that when He appears we will be like Him..." He is coming to restore us to the perfect will of God's Creation. As His elect, we can look forward to Heaven. A time of knowing God and enjoying His Love throughout eternity.
My prayer for you this Lenten season is that you will be waiting expectantly, with hope, for His Glorifying Grace that is coming. Believe in Him, Believe His Truth and Receive Him into your heart today and always.
