God is on the move!  This week, Herbst UMC hosted our 2nd community vacation bible school.  Over the four days, we averaged 56 children, ages 4-12.  Our theme was My Best Friend, Jesus! and we studied Jesus love for us, knowledge of us, and how Jesus is always there for us.  Our last day we talked about how we can be there for Jesus, by being the salt and the light in our world.  Through teaching, activities, bible time, crafts and song, the children had the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus all week.
The kids this week made 15 blankets that will go to the First Light Grant County Child Advocacy Center.  These blankets were prayed over by all the kids on the last day.  May those that receive them be blessed with God's love and friendship.
Saturday afternoon, the Herbst VBS float took part in the Swayzee Days parade.  About 20 kids, not all from Herbst, rode the float that announced to everyone that Jesus is our best friend!  We tossed out candy for the kids and had a great time being the light for Jesus.
The week was capped off by a very successful Tenderloin Dinner.  Herbst UMC is known of serving great food and warm hospitality.  There was a great energy during the evening and it concluded with a record number of people served.  Praise God for the opportunities of this week.

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that served God this week.  May the experience bless you and cause you to grow closer to God.

God is on the move!  Alleluia!

Pastor Jeremy
