Godliness - Worship and Living in the Moment - 09/26/2021
Last week we were blessed with the message given by Ryan Payne from the band Attaboy. Attaboy was one of 6 artists who performed at the 2021 Harmony Music Festival. Attaboy blessed the combined worship of Herbst UMC and Sweetser Wesleyan Church with a message about how we see the word "Worship".
As we seek spiritual maturity through a focus on Godliness, how we worship the King of Kings is so important. This week we continue in our discussion on Godliness by talking about how important the choices we make in the moment matter in our journey toward spiritual maturity. From the stressful and demanding positions in the world, for example, the President of the United States, to those everyday moments we face, we must begin to see that every moment has an eternal impact.
Every choice we make should be first aligned to God's plan for our lives and His Will for this world. Our choices should reflect Godliness by showing God's character to the world. Will we stand by and watch? Will we take action? Will we step around or step in? No matter what we do, we should first seek God to know what He wants for us to do. Our actions reflect what is in our heart.
Jesus wants to live in our hearts and guide our lives. He longs to show grace and mercy to each of us as we turn to Him by putting God first in our hearts. When he dwells within us, we can make choices with confidence and strength because of Jesus.
